Do unto me and I'll............

Do unto me and I'll act a fool. That seems to be the theme in a lot of ways today. So many angry unhappy and sad people.  We've all seen the bad and the ugly get worse as time moves on. And while I'll admit that it's pretty scary sometimes there's also an element of 'sometimes we can be there to make things turn out a little different'. Even with something as simple as a smile and a good thought.

In town there's a gentleman that stands on the middle island of a major boulevard and asks for money. He appears to have been severely burned and deformed by some horrible fate. Many cars pass him, roll up their windows, lock their doors, turn their heads while whispering judgemental and negative remarks. Oh yeah, it's obvious. Almost everytime we drive past this gentleman my roommate gives him money. Sometimes only a couple of dollars and the other day a $20 bill. His appreciation was heartfelt. Her act of unselfishness and his act of appreciation touched me to the core. I've seen many many cars pass him yet through his deformed face he smiles. He waves and he says 'Thank you'. How many of us could say that we would be the same. That we would smile and wave through the pain and the disgusting reactions of others.

I'm not suggesting that we stop everytime someone is out there, asking for our help. Sometimes we can't give money or gifts but sometimes a big smile, a hug, a word of encouragement are worth far more than a couple of dollars! Especially if you are right next to the person.

A good thought...would you want to be treated the way you treat people?

Stop It! I'm Just Saying!

Excuses Excuses!!! What a waste of time. Hmmm I would have if, or I could have if, or I can't... YES YOU CAN! So Stop It! Pick up that Paint Brush, Spatula, Needle and Thread, Tool Box, Hair Scissors.... whatever! If you can think it...you can do it! I never went to Art School (because it's just not that serious) but I do create Art the way it makes me feel good and hopefully others I share it with. I am still attending 'The School of Life'! And one thing I learned is that 'Life is Too Short...and Way Too Long... not to live it, enjoy it, accept it, appreciate it and give back! And time wasted whining and complaining about what is or isn't, is time wasted enjoying my life!

Today is a great day to start something new!

 

Mentally draw a picture of what your best day would look like with what you have to work with and put yourself in it! Make a promise to yourself to appreciate what you have to work with and just do it!

 

Ok enough ranting... which by the way was brought on by someome telling me they don't have a creative bone in their body! That always gets me going. LOL. Everyone has a creative bone and finding it isn't really that hard. Again, if you can think it, you can do it! I'm just saying....
